Return to the overground ruins of our civilization, where the previous inhabitants speak through sounds that drift like samples of the soul.'
This is the description of my first CD released in 1992 which is more appropriate than ever for Primordial Passport, the new album which deeply echoes the inspiration of the beginnings which Projekt had been able to frame so well.
Ritual and dark-ambient sounds from the early days, acoustic rebab cords (a traditional instrument from Afghanistan), meets natural sounds and voices, in a peculiar mixture of arrangements.
The tracks gradually layer and thicken, giving rise to a powerful, vivid, and enduring vision that words cannot express as well as sound.
Nonetheless, all the vertigo, depth, and mystery have condensed and converged in this topical, synchronous creation, celebrating 35 years since their first appearance.
There is still much to plumb in the depths of consciousness, in neuronal connections and hidden meanings, but the trail has been laid, the path through the landscape is now far more orderly and composed, if not expressively revealed.
All music composed and performed by Stefano Musso (BMI), from 2019 to 2023. Mixed at Lunae studio, Lunigiana, Ital in April 2025.
