Conceptual Memory
Void Sessions is an immersive sonic experience aiming to explore the boundaries of the listeners auditory and emotional perception. The piece delves into the concept of emptiness, both in its physical and metaphorical sense, inviting the listener to immerse themselves in a sonic space where the boundaries between the tangible and intangible blur.
Void Sessions is a sonic piece produced in my fathers room who passed away in 2021, using radios and a radio/TV set as the primary sound source. This creation seeks to explore the duality between silence and sound, channelling my fathers absent presence and exploring the void left by his departure. The piece evokes a profound sense of nostalgia and loss, using the sounds of the radios as a bridge between the past and the present. It plays with the duality between emptiness and fullness, employing sounds that evoke the sensation of infinite space and absence, as well as moments of sonic density that fill the environment.
Each sound captured by the radios carries unique emotional resonances, reflecting the relationship with my father, as well as the shared memories in that space. Inspired by the art of domestic sound and my personal experience, the piece becomes an emotional testimony and an intimate exploration of memory, grief, and emotional connection through sounds that evolve and transform gradually, taking the listener on a sonic journey that challenges traditional musical expectations and conventions.

Void Sessions es una experiencia sonora inmersiva que busca explorar los lmites de la percepcin auditiva y emocional del oyente. La pieza se sumerge en el concepto del vaco, tanto en su significado fsico como metafrico, invitando al oyente a adentrarse en un espacio sonoro donde las fronteras entre lo tangible y lo intangible se desdibujan.
Void Sessions es una pieza sonora producida en la habitacin de mi padre fallecido en 2021, utilizando como principal fuente de sonido las radios y una radio/tv de mi padre. Esta creacin busca explorar la dualidad entre el silencio y el sonido, canalizando la presencia ausente de mi padre y explorando el vaco dejado por su partida. La pieza evoca una profunda sensacin de nostalgia y prdida, utilizando los sonidos de las radios como un puente entre el pasado y el presente. Juega con la dualidad entre el vaco y la plenitud, utilizando sonidos que evocan la sensacin de espacio infinito y ausencia, as como momentos de densidad sonora que llenan el ambiente.
Cada sonido capturado por las radios lleva resonancias emocionales nicas, reflejando la relacin con mi padre, as como los recuerdos compartidos en ese espacio. Inspirada en el arte del sonido domstico y mi experiencia personal, la pieza se convierte en un testimonio emocional y una exploracin ntima de la memoria, el duelo y la conexin emocional a travs de los sonidos que evolucionan y se transforman gradualmente, llevando al oyente a un viaje sonoro que desafa las expectativas y las convenciones musicales tradicionales.
