"We're proud to present “La stanza di Swedenborg”, VANESSA VAN BASTEN's first full length cd. “La stanza di Swedenborg” is a creature born out of Morgan Bellini's genius, and partially differs from the band's acclaimed & praised debut ep. The music could still be described as Heavy Post-Rock, but Vanessa Van Basten is nowadays a lot more than this.
A strongly emotional sonic magma that absorbs & metabolizes different sonic influences, from the introspective metalcore of Jesu and Neurosis to the experimental metal drones of Sunn O))), from Lycia and Slowdive melancholy-driven soundscapes to the psychedelic & spacey atmospheres of Klaus Schulze up to the cinematic melodies of Morricone and Badalamenti.
“La stanza di Swedenborg” can easily be seen as a brand new interpretation of Sturm und Drang in music and a neverending game where opposites attract and interact.
Frustration caused by a monotone and degraded urban life versus an ideal natural world. A way to stimulate the perception of metaphysical sublime.
