“....From the moment you put the track on until the moment it finishes, it is a nice piece of music. It has a slightly glitchy feel to it, but it is mainly some sort of repetitive ambient that reminds of a more electronic version of postrock. Not just in the music though, because with the titles My Heart Is Filled With Sunshine, But There Is Still Disarray and ...Is Dark No More, The Night is Dark No More, The Night... I am reminded by the tracktitles of those canadian postrock-bands. Yet where most postrock gets boring, or even slightly annoying after a while, this swedish act knows how to work the music, and knows not to make it too long.
Modernart have a slightly lighter approach in the music it offers, with the three tracks on the Modernart side of this split 7". The tracks, Untitled P., Rest You, Rest, Ohh To-morrow and I.,, L.,, d.Y!!! the same sort of feeling is given as Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words offers on the other side, a repetitive feeling. However, the repetitiveness is more subtle and because the whole is a bit more light in feeling, I think I am more inclined to listen to this side than the other side.
Though very similar both sides are also very different. As mentioned, the Modernart tracks offer a lighter side, and also more subtle repetitiveness, which makes me like that side. On the other hand, certain sounds used in the Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words tracks give it a certain "gritty" sound, which also attracts me. It is hard to really tell which side I like most, and I don't really think it's necessary to make such a judgement, especially on a 7", which does not contain a lot of music in the first place. Instead I will just say that I love this 7". It's one of the better pieces of ambient-ish music I have heard in a while.” [Electronic Music World / Stefan Koopmanschap]

“ Two swedish projects split this 7" slab of vinyl. The glitch drone pop project Dead Letters graces the A side with a track that is split into 2 parts. "my heart is filled with darkness, but there's still disarray" sounds like the disarray trying to get out of a box wrapped in plastic. Or is one trying to bring order to the disarray by wrapping it up? The piece seques into the second part entitled "...is dark no more, the night is dark no more, the night." Here sounds of backwards guitars are added, creating a bleak drone. On the flipside Modern Art continues the feeling of desolation, but adds a sense of hope, yet it never overcomes the bleakness. A slow hymn-like
accordian pad accompanies a panning drone as a distant train like sound echos in the distance. Great cover art as well. “ (JS/Vital Weekly)
