"...we're back with a new project based on an old idea [Check « Régénération...
» ], *« La rivière »*, a new CDr series, planned for the next 3 or 4 years
(Who knows? ... there are +/- 25 CD to release...).
Every 2 months, we will release a new piece on the *Taurion River theme*. Artists were asked to work on the composition of a sound piece created using the provided recordings or on the composition of a sound piece inspired by
listening to the sound provided and consultation of the accompanying documents. The sound bank was designed by Cédric Peyronnet (minus toy.bizarre), who recorded the nuances of the Taurion River and its valley
(Check http://www.k146.org), for 3 years, in Limousin, France.
Each CD set is illustrated by a photographer who also worked on the Thaurion River valley theme.
Series of 6 CDr a year (8cm or 12cm - variable length).
Each CD issue is limited between 50 and 100 copies and is available on a subscription basis.

First CD by *Giancarlo Toniutti*, please:
*"igilagiilal aglalgal" (was brought together in baidars).*

By the way, believe it or not, but we will organize a *launch party* for each « La rivière » CD set.
*The CD will be played once in a specific place of the Taurion/Thaurion Valley at a specific moment*.
Drinks will be provided. Check dates and maps on the kaon website.

Taurion or Thaurion ?
Well, really, it depends where you are.

Yes, rural, getting more & more rural...
...deeper & deeper, almost country bumpkin.

"From field-recordings by Cédric Peyronnet in the Taurion river valley, France. Sound sources: aircraft, crickets, cicadas, grasshoppers, snow, ice, environments studio work from february to september 2009. Title in Atkan Aleut, Eskimo-Aleut language spoken on Atka island in the Aleutian archipelago, North Pacific. This work has been composed 2 times, because a first version of it went completely cancelled out due to something like a digital crash. The second version thus takes on where the first one disappeared and from most of what was thought of and decided about it during the first 4 months of work. Then it developed it into a perhaps more complex texture, yet still following the same principle of timbral and morphologenetical sieve and enhancement of peculiar traits of the original field-recordings. The final result is a slow evolution of a sonic galaxy revolving around a limited sound material array, yet never making use of the same local structures and morphologies. Giancarlo Toniutti Born in Udine 21. 3. 1963. Started working with sound in late 1977, with electroacoustic improvisation, then into electroacoustic research and composition since 1980 (including 1982-85 electronic music at the Conservatory of Venice with Alvise Vidolin). Published several works since then, from the early cassette tapes to several Lp's and cd's. He researches the accidental nature of acoustic systems-sources and their morphogenetic articulation. He's also into anthropology, linguistic, morphology, acoustics, and anything else could help understanding reality's semantics." [official label info]
