More Info "Neben Inade haben Herbst 9 dazu beigetragen, dass das kleine Label aus Leipzig einen guten Ruf für atmosphärisch dichte Dark Ambient-Musik genießt. Ist es aber bei ersteren oft so, dass die Weiten des Alls bemüht werden, um ein Gefühl von Unendlichkeit zu evozieren, sind es bei Herbst 9 (ur-)alte Zivilisationen, die beschworen werden. Das Raunen der Zeit durchzieht das gesamte Album: Gleich beim Opener werden verhallte Sounds mit verfremdeten Stimmen und orientalischen Klängen kombiniert. Das hat zum Teil auch leicht rituellen Charakter, z.B. beim von archaischen Rhythmen durchzogenen …And everything around him answered. Man muss unweigerlich an H.P. Lovecraft denken: an (seine) Städte ohne Namen, Schatten aus der Zeit und Flüsterer im Dunkeln. Der Beipackzettel des Labels trägt zwar etwas dick auf, wenn etwa die Rede ist von „authentischen Fragmenten uralter Rituale“, aber Klappern gehört oft zum Handwerk und das Album ist stimmungsvoll genug um ohne so etwas bestehen zu können. Wer also einen Soundtrack für die Lektüre „aus Äonen“ benötigt (um zum „Einsiedler von Providence“ zurückzukehren), der ist mit diesem Album sehr gut bedient."
