Formed in 1991, BASTARD NOISE co-existed alongside the power violence group MAN IS THE BASTARD until the aforementioned group’s demise in 1996. BASTARD NOISE creates noise at its best with an orchestra of home spun instruments and loads of lo-fi electronics, field recordings and power electronics. French sound artist, CHRISTIAN RENOU has been quietly turning out intricate and beautiful music for more than 17 years. Formally known as BRUME (1985-2001), he has consistently been one of the most interesting musicians of the mid-80’s home-taper scene.
