Ursprünglich 1981 auf Rough Trade erschienen, war "Heartbeat" das erste in einem ganzen Katalog von bahnbrechenden Alben von Chris Carter und Cosey Fanni Tutti. Dieses frühe Werk macht sich über abgeschnittene, gesampelte Stimmen, verzerrte Gitarren, Industrial Elemente, melodiöse Synthies und cinematische Soundlandschaften her.
