For all who are not yet familiar with the BLACK Magazin: BLACK is a German music magazine, which was established as a print mag in the mid-nineties. As the title relates, the first issues dealt chiefly with various wave, gothic, dark folk and ethereal pop groups. One of the reasons for creating the magazine was to set a counterpoint to the growing commercialization of other scene mags and the notion that alternative music was more and more held by cultural industry. Over the years, the magazine widened its focus on music genres rather losely connected to any scene. Black ceased to be a bi-monthly print mag after issue #50 in december 2009 and continues since that time now as an ONLINE magazine.
