The mastermind of Compest, Martin Steinebach, is a wellknown artist on TOSOM. "Ruinen" is the fourth release by this COMPEST and for the first time on TOSOM. Compest somehow is about destroying the artificial borders he have created to distinguish his other projects from each other. The new release carries this idea in its name: Ruins remind of other, older things, but should also motivate to start something new. In this release, merging the styles of Conscientia Peccati, StillStand and Monoid continues, mixing ambient noises with tribal percussion, industrial dirt as well as ethnic chanting with filtered feedbacks and synthetic arpeggios.
