Dass BRUCE GILBERT von den legendären WIRE deren experimentierfreudigstes Mitglied war, ist wohl unbestrittene Tatsache (wie auch schon die frühen DOME-Alben mit GRAHAM LEWIS zeigen).
Mit "ORDIER" aber, bereits 1996 aufgenommen (& zwischendurch verloren geglaubt, aber 8 Jahre später endlich veröffentlicht) hat er ein sehr sperriges Geräuschmusik-Werk geschaffen, das sich kaum kategorieren lässt. Neben dumpf wummernden Mechano-Drones und repetitiven Geräusch-Kaskaden gibt es auch total abstrakte wilde Verfremdungen von elektrischen Klängen und metallischen wie Sinuston-artigen Sounds, deren Herkunft im Dunkeln bleiben muss. Sehr vielseitig und jegliche herkömmliche musikalische Parameter hinter sich lassend... wie er selbst sagt, versucht er wirklich "in bestimmte Sounds hineinzugehen und sie bis zur Zerstörung zu jagen". Experiment geglückt! Dieses Album genügt höchsten Ansprüchen.
